5 Sunflower Fields to visit in Minnesota: 2023 Edition🌻

Minnesotans grab those cameras and get ready to have a fantastic time in the sunflower fields. August and September are the two months we get to enjoy the blooming flowers in Minnesota, and we have found five sunflower fields around the Twin Cities and beyond to visit this year! 🌻Afton Apple🌻

Located at 14421 90th Street South, Hastings, MN 55033

Afton Apple has a Flower field festival on August 20-21, 27-28 and September 3-5 from 10am-6pm.  The flower fields are stunning! Visitors can enjoy the beauty of over 7 acres of several varieties of zinnias, colorful sunflowers and bright yellow sunflowers! There are amazing views from the top of the 2 flower bridges and lots of photo opps throughout the fields! You can pick your own sunflowers and zinnias too – see the pricing listed on their Flower Festival page. Make sure to stop by and say hello to their petting farm animals! They are so excited to have visitors!

Blooming Sunflower Fields


🌻Fresh Acres🌻

Located at 8102 72nd St NE, Monticello, MN 55362

They have 5 acres of sunflowers for you to come to enjoy in Monticello, MN. They hope for the flowers to be ready by end of August. Check website for current admission fee for the sunflower fields only and for a cut-your-own bouquet and access to the other activities.

🌻Joyer Adventure Farm – Sunflower Walk🌻

Located at  8174 Lake Dr, Lino Lakes, MN 55014

Joyer Adventure Farm is spilling over into a 4-acre field of gorgeous sunflowers! Come and walk through over 20,000 blooms spreading down the hill like liquid sunshine, with photo opportunities and a pick-your-own area to take home a handful of summer for yourself.

The Sunflower field is in the “back forty” of Waldoch Farm. A hayride will be picked up by the Garden Center and transported back to the Sunflower Field.

The Joyer Adventure Farm admission includes Joyer Barnyard, Zoom Mountain, Low Ropes Course, Pedal Trikes, Playhouses, Tug-o-War, Hook the Ring, Pumpkin Castle, and Spider Web, Swing by the Spider Web, Wooden Play Sets, Mini Maze, and Farm Dig Sandbox.

🌻Green Barn Garden Center and Sunflowers🌻

Located at 26501 MN-65, Isanti, MN 55040

Visit a field of sunshine! The sunflower field is excellent for taking photos and enjoying the Minnesota sunshine. Green Barn Garden Center has 5 crops planted this year for continuous bloom through August. 

Check website for current admission cost (age 5 and under free) with free parking in the field. 

The fields are open 8am-8pm (last entry 8pm-stay until dusk). 

Visit their website for food truck schedules (Fridays-Sundays. Schedule is updated as changes may occur). Food trucks and tents are accessible without admission.

🌻Treasured Haven Farm🌻

Located at  53407 Government Rd, Rush City, MN 55069

Treasured Haven Farm is a unique, 450-acre organic family farm located near Rush City, East Central Minnesota, within an hour of the Twin Cities up I-35. Best Time to see Sunflower Fields in Minnesota

August and September are the year’s key months to see sunflowers bloom in Minnesota. The timing will vary each year, of course, based on the weather. The sunflower fields that allow visitors will bloom at different times.
