Children’s Reading Circle – Minnesota Integration Story
The Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery invites families and community members to its next Author Reading Circle featuring Our First Bus Ride by Derek Francis. This special event will include a screening of Minnesota Integration Story, a reading of the book, and a Q&A with book characters Molly and Monica. Both the book and film share the story of the 1971 integration of Hale and Field Elementary Schools in Minneapolis, highlighting courage, friendship, and the power of community. Join us for an inspiring intergenerational event celebrating history, literacy, and belonging.
