Earth Week: Find the Frog

Meet Lily! (Short for Lily Pad of course.)

Lily has 3 passions in life:

1) Sunbathing (She hates winter)
2) Earth Week (obviously)
3) Riddles (a little out of the ordinary for frogs, but we don’t judge!)

So, she decided to partner with Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation to have a FREE Earth Week event. In an effort to get community members outside during Earth Week, Lily will visit one Mendota Heights Park to share her love of riddles. From Monday, April 22 through Friday, April 26 you will be able to find Lily on a trail with a riddle next to her. If you know the answer of the riddle you can submit your answer to the City of Mendota Heights to be entered in to win a free Earth Day Basket!

General Guidelines and Rules:

-Do not move Lily! She likes her personal space.
-Lily will be located next to a trail in a Mendota Heights Park. She will NOT be hidden. She will be sitting in the open for all to see.
-Because she will be in the open, we kindly ask that you do not spoil Lily’s location for others.
-While you are welcome to take a photo of Lily, we kindly ask to omit the riddle from your photo as to not spoil the search for others.

To submit your answer to Lily’s Riddle, you may:

-Send your answer to the riddle to [email protected]
-Message Mendota Heights Parks and Recreation on Facebook with your answer
-Call 651-255-1353 and provide the answer to Recreation Staff or Recreation Staff voicemail
-Arrive at City Hall in person and let front desk staff know you would like to submit your response Earth Day riddle answer.

Please include the following information with your riddle answer:
-First and Last Name
-Contact Information (email or phone number)

Please note that Lily is not located in the following areas:
-Any natural, unmanicured areas
-Mendota Heights Par 3 Community Golf Course
-Oȟéyawahe/Historic Pilot Knob Preservation
-The off-leash Dog Park on Acacia Boulevard
-The Sibley Athletic Complex
-Any City buildings/building properties including Public Works, the Fire Department, and City Hall/Police Department.
-Near any body of water or embankment
-At a height where climbing might be involved, such as in a tree or on top of recreation equipment, light posts, etc.
-More than five feet off any trail or within any natural areas (forestland, prairie, tall vegetation, etc.)
-Under the ground/soil
