Event: Peanuts, Popcorn, and Preemies: The Story of Wonderland, Twin City Amusement Park

Join Sue Hunter Weir, longtime historian of Pioneers & Soldiers Cemetery, for a presentation about the little-known history of Wonderland, an amusement park that operated from 1905 – 1911.

Located at Lake Street and 31st Avenue South, Wonderland was part of the trend of entertainment parks at that time that celebrated new technology, including an Infantorium where premature babies were cared for by nurses and doctors. For a small fee, the public could view the babies being treated in incubators. Learn the history of Wonderland, including photos from this long-ago public attraction.
