Every month Clay Squared invites the community to our studios to learn something new about ceramic clay and polymer clay! And have some snacks!
Josh Blanc and Layl McDill both started their careers as clay artists with mud! Josh still literally plays in the mud whenever he reconstitutes his clay. He is endlessly fascinated with the way it hardens and cracks. Layl used to play out in the garden making mud pies with her dachshund when she was a toddler. Now she has moved on to polymer clay.
This month Josh will let you get your hands on terra cotta mud and Layl is embracing the madness of creation as we channel our inner mad hatter and make a group fantasy teapot!
Who can’t use a little mud and madness in the middle of April!
For a snack we will show off how much we have improved from our mud pie making days and make a real pie! Plus tea and crumpets of course!
