Halloween: Celestial Origins, @ the Como Planetarium

For all ages. Trick-or-treating, costumes… and astronomy? Halloween has deeper ties to the night sky than you might think. Explore the history of Halloween and its connection to the changing seasons as a “cross quarter day,” marking the halfway point between the autumn equinox and winter solstice. Tour the night sky and learn what planets, constellations, and stars to look for on our Halloween evening. Costumes optional.

Located inside Como Park Elementary School in Saint Paul, the Como Planetarium is a 55-seat immersive theater that brings the wonders of the universe within reach. Beneath its dome, visitors can explore the night sky, travel through the solar system, visit distant galaxies, and discover the latest findings in astronomy through engaging presentations and stunning visual experiences.

Please note that the planetarium is not open for drop-in visits. See the event calendar for public show dates and field trip opportunities at commed.spps.org/planetarium.
