About Fawn-Doe-Rosa

Fawn-Doe-Rosa was originally named “Bambi-Land,” and it is obvious why. For more than 60 years, the wildlife park has been famous for its long-legged, doe-eyed residents, which families can feed and interact within the park’s deer yard. Feeding the adorable adult deer and fawns is what draws many visitors to the park when the weather starts to warm, but there is much more to explore at this western Wisconsin staple.

A roughly hour-long drive from the Twin Cities, Fawn-Doe-Rosa is more than just a park to look at cute animals. Their staff is dedicated to educating visitors about the diverse range of species that call the park home. The park collaborates with conservation agencies and rehabilitators to protect and care for its numerous animals.

Feed the deer, pet animals, and ride a pony!

If your family takes a trip across the border to visit Fawn-Doe-Rosa, be sure to have your phone and cameras ready. You will want to capture all of the adorable animal encounters that occur from the second you walk into the park. As previously mentioned, the park is known for its deer- who can be very assertive when they see a visitor with animal feed. This is something to keep in mind when visiting with very young family members!

The park also features a petting area with rabbits and other animals, as well as a large farmyard with cows, horses, donkeys, and sheep. Pony rides are available for purchase starting Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Not all of the animals at Fawn-Doe-Rosa are available for petting, though, such as their foxes, wolves, lynx, and otters.

An Educational Day Trip

The park’s staff is available to give educational tours for school and summer programs. They encourage visitors to ask their employees lots of questions while at the park to learn more about the animals and their individual stories. Fawn-Doe-Rosa also has a large gift shop with seasonal gifts and souvenirs.

Fawn-Doe-Rosa is the perfect destination for a day trip due to its location. Downtown Taylors Falls, Minnesota, is about a 5-minute drive from Fawn-Doe-Rosa, offering a variety of restaurants, stores, coffee shops, and scenic views.
