Join us this summer for a transformative three-week theater camp designed for young creatives aged 8 to 12! Participants will embark on an exciting journey of self-discovery, cultural exploration, and creative expression.
In collaboration with Speaking Out Collective and workshop leader Laura Mann Hill, this camp will explore identity and community through a creative artistic processes centered on collective story-creation.
Through engaging activities and guided workshops, campers will:
Explore Stories of Heritage: Delve into tales and traditions that preserve cultural and personal identities.
Create Dialogue: Collaborate with peers to craft meaningful conversations about their unique experiences.
Develop a Play: Work as an ensemble to write, rehearse, and perform a play that highlights their personal heritage while incorporating perspectives from other cultures.
In this immersive camp, participants will gain exposure to diverse cultural practices, learn to understand differences, and celebrate our shared human connections while building creative skills and confidence. Guided by experienced instructors, they will practice cultural relativity and discover the beauty of unity in diversity. The camp will culminate in a special performance where families and friends are invited to witness the creativity and hard work of the young artists.
