Fall at the Farm Returns to Country Sun Farm
Fall is back at Country Sun Farm! Beginning Wednesday, September 16, families can head to the farm in Lake Elmo for a classic fall outing filled with pumpkins, hayrides, animals, play areas and plenty of seasonal fun.
For more than 40 years, Country Sun Farm has been a fall tradition for Twin Cities families. Kids can explore longtime favorites including hayrides, pumpkin picking, a free petting zoo, corn pit, gem mining, Silly String Zone, and indoor and outdoor play areas. Some attractions, including hayrides, are available weekends only, so check the farm’s schedule before heading out.
Things to Do at Country Sun Farm
There is plenty to keep families busy during a visit, whether you’re stopping by to pick out the perfect pumpkin or making a full day of it.
- 🎃 Pick a Pumpkin: Browse thousands of pumpkins in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, along with specialty gourds and squash.
- 🚜 Hayrides: Take a traditional hayride around the farm. Hayrides are available on weekends.
- 🐐 Petting Zoo: Visit the farm animals at the free petting zoo.
- 🌽 Corn Pit: Let the kids dig, play and explore in the corn pit.
- 💎 Gem Mining: Try your hand at gem mining and see what treasures you can uncover.
- 🟢 Silly String Zone: Kids can have some silly fun in the designated Silly String Zone.
- 🛝 Indoor & Outdoor Play: Kids can burn off some energy with play areas both inside and outside.
- 📸 Fall Photo Opportunities: Capture a few seasonal family photos while enjoying the fall scenery.
Kids Corner
Country Sun Farm added a indoor Kids Corner, giving younger visitors another place to play and explore. The space will feature toys, games, candy and other kid-friendly finds.
Fall Treats & Seasonal Shopping
Don’t forget to leave room for some fall treats! Weekend concessions include mini donuts, caramel apples and popcorn, plus seasonal drinks such as apple cider, hot cocoa and pumpkin spice cappuccino.
Families can also shop for fall mums, seasonal décor, gourds and squash to bring a little bit of the season home.

About Country Sun Farm
Country Sun Farm is a family-owned seasonal farm and greenhouse in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. For more than 40 years, the farm has welcomed Twin Cities families throughout the seasons, from its spring greenhouse and garden center to fall pumpkins, family attractions and hayrides, followed by fresh-cut Christmas trees in winter. Today, Country Sun Farm continues to be a place where families can enjoy seasonal traditions and make memories together.
A Ticket Booth Marked “Tickets” is available near the lower parking lot to purchase tickets for the outdoor activities. Because there is no internet service at this outdoor location, the ticket booth accepts CASH only. An Atm is provided nearby.
In the event of bad weather, some outdoor activities may have to be cancelled.

Purchase your tickets at our ticket booth, and enjoy a ride in a straw filled wagon, as our tractor takes you around our farm. Listen along as our farmer takes you on a tour of our farm area, learn about the crops and our animals and enjoy Halloween themed scenes, appropriate for all ages .

Free Petting Zoo

Gem mining is open during all regular business hours. Participants purchase a bag of gem mining material which is guaranteed to contain fossils or gems determined by the type of bag purchased. Participants sit down at a mining Sluice and sift through the sand to find their gems and fossils. This event is enjoyed by people of all ages.
