What to Expect

The Veterans Memorial Community Center (VMCC) is an all-in-one destination for indoor family fun in Inver Grove Heights. Whether your crew wants to climb, play, swim or get active, there’s plenty to explore under one roof.

🛝 Indoor Playground

Brightside Playzone is a three-level indoor playground designed for children 11 and younger. Kids can climb, slide and explore in a colorful space built for active play. Socks are required, and children must be supervised by a caregiver age 16 or older.

💦 Pool & Water Fun

The Aquatic Center features an indoor water park, an eight-lane lap pool, dive well with 1- and 3-meter diving boards and a hot tub. Younger swimmers can splash and play while older kids and adults enjoy the larger pool areas.

🏀 Gym & Recreation

The VMCC also offers a gymnasium with opportunities for basketball, volleyball and pickleball, plus open gym opportunities throughout the year.

⛸️ Ice Arenas & Turf

Two ice arenas provide space for skating and hockey, while the seasonal arena is converted into an indoor turf field during part of the year.

👟 Fitness & Family Amenities

Parents can take advantage of the fitness center, indoor walking/running track, fitness classes, locker rooms and a family locker room. Childcare is also available for children ages 6 months through 11 years while adults use the facility.

🌳 Don’t Miss the Outdoor Playground

When Minnesota weather cooperates, head outside to Community Center Park, located next to the VMCC. The playground offers climbing features, slides and swings for kids ages 2–12, along with a shaded picnic shelter.

• Check the schedule before you go. Pool, water park, gym and other amenities have varying hours.
• Bring socks if you’re planning to play at Brightside Playzone.
• Plan for multiple activities. The VMCC makes it easy to combine indoor playground time with swimming or another recreation activity.
• Pack a swimsuit even if the pool wasn’t your original plan—the aquatic center is a major family draw.
• Don’t forget the outdoor playground when the weather is nice.
• Check age and supervision requirements for individual amenities before visiting.
