About the Science Museum of Minnesota

The Science Museum of Minnesota in Saint Paul is a must-visit destination for families seeking a mix of fun and education. With hands-on exhibits that span fascinating scientific concepts—like physics, chemistry, and biology—there’s something to captivate kids (and parents!) of all ages. From tiny spiders to towering dinosaurs, the museum brings science to life in an engaging way. Your family can easily spend just a few hours or a full day here!

One of the museum’s most popular attractions is the Ultimate Dinosaurs exhibit, featuring life-sized replicas, fossils, and intriguing insights into these prehistoric giants’ diets and habitats. Aspiring paleontologists will be thrilled by the immersive displays. They may even discover a new favorite dinosaur in the process! Another highlight is the Mississippi River Valley exhibit, where you can learn about local ecosystems while enjoying a stunning view of the river below. This exhibit is a favorite for learning about our local habitats and then viewing them with your own eyes!

For younger visitors, the Wonder Years exhibit is a fantastic space to explore early childhood development through hands-on activities. Each activity will teach you and your kids how children learn and grow during the early years of life. Meanwhile, the Human Body Gallery invites kids to learn more about how their bodies work through fun, interactive experiences. Kids will be amazed to measure how much blood is in human bodies, get sneezed to learn how colds spread, and more! Each exhibit across the museum allows kids to develop the first skills of every scientist: observation and building connections.

Wrap up your visit with a breathtaking film in the museum’s Omnitheater. The films showcase dynamic science and nature stories. Past films have featured everything from outer space discoveries and ancient caves to deep-sea exploration.
