Aquatennial Celebration in Minneapolis

Aquatennial, the Celebration of Minneapolis, is getting ready to set sail on July 23 – 26, 2025

As is tradition, the Aquatennial will kickoff with the Torchlight Parade on Wednesday, July 23 and end on a bang with the Target Fireworks on Saturday, July 26.

The schedule includes free, family fun options such as outdoor movies, Twin Cities River Rats shows, musical performances, games and fitness activities, pop-up markets, fireworks, Kids Zone, AlleyJam Skateboarding and SO much more.

Aquatennial Celebration and Events

The Minneapolis Aquatennial is back this summer with four full days of fun for families! From fireworks and parades to movies, music, water shows, markets, and more—this is one of the biggest summer celebrations in the Twin Cities. Whether you’re visiting for a day or planning to enjoy the whole weekend, there’s something exciting happening every day.


Signature Events You Can’t Miss:

  • 🚒 Aquatennial Torchlight Parade
    Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. | Nicollet from 12th to 4th Streets
    Minnesota’s biggest nighttime parade features glowing floats, marching bands, and more. This year’s Grand Marshal is Gopher Men’s Hockey Coach Bob Motzko!

  • 🎆 Target Fireworks
    Saturday, July 26 at 10 p.m. | West River Parkway near Stone Arch Bridge
    One of the top fireworks shows in the country, set to music and launched over the Mississippi River. Arrive early for live music, food, markets, and a full evening of fun!

    Explore Minnesota’s deep connection to water through interactive exhibits and stories.

  • Go Outside: Summer Sessions
    11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. | Hennepin Government Center North Plaza
    Enjoy a live performance and Aquatennial-themed activities.

  • Loring Park Family Fun Night
    5:30 – 7:30 p.m. | Loring Park
    Great for younger kids—expect games, crafts, and more.

  • Twin Cities River Rats Waterski Show
    6:30 p.m. | West River Road (between Broadway & Plymouth)
    Daring tricks and fun on the river!

  • Torchlight Parade
    7:30 p.m. | Nicollet Mall
    Glowing floats, music, and community spirit.

  • Movie Night: “Wicked” Sing-Along
    9 p.m. | The Commons
    A fun evening for musical lovers of all ages.
