A local milk bank for Minnesota Moms

The Minnesota Milk Bank for Babies — the first facility of its kind in the state — is in located Golden Valley.

This local milk bank allows Minnesota mothers’ to drop off excess breast milk for storage and distribution. It is processed locally and goes quickly to vulnerable preemies and other local babies — all while avoiding sky-high overnight shipping fees.

Milk bank co-founder Jill Lindquist, a nurse, and board-certified lactation consultant said the bank has been successfully distributing milk for the past couple of years!

Lindquist said the bank is fully inspected and approved by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and from the Human Milk Banking Association of North America.

“The board has been working so hard for years. We are so happy we are actually seeing this dream come true,” Lindquist said. “We are thankful to help our babies and save lives right here in Minnesota.”
