It’s just over the border and is a refreshing escape filled with outdoor adventures, charming small-town experiences, and a thriving food and beverage scene. It works like a scavenger hunt and is designed to help you uncover some of Polk County’s best-kept secrets. Polk County is located in the Northwestern part of Wisconsin and borders Washington County and Chisago County in Minnesota.
Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning explorer, this interactive experience is a fun way to build your trip itinerary while discovering local businesses, scenic spots, and hidden gems throughout the county. It’s easy to participate in the Polk County Spring Discovery Hunt. Here are the three steps:
STEP 1: Pick up your official Discovery Hunt card at the Polk County Visitor’s Center
STEP 2: Complete at least one activity from each of the six categories on the front of the card.
STEP 3: When you are finished, scan the QR code on the back of the card to submit your entry.
Activities within the categories of STEP 2 include great hikes and sights, like going behind the waterfall at Cascade Falls in Osceola, standing in the world-famous potholes formed by glacial meltwater, or checking out the museums, galleries, and live performances all over the county. Plus, get active biking, golfing, fishing, kayaking, horseback riding, ATV cruising, and more!
Entries to the Spring Discovery Hunt are accepted from March 15 through May 15. The Polk County Visitor’s Center is at 710 Highway 35, St. Croix Falls, WI 54024.
