Brussel sprouts for dinner

brussel sprouts

Growing up we never had Brussel sprouts, our parents never cooked them even for themselves so when I tried them for the first time I have to admit they looked a bit foreign to me. I have been able to try them at restaurants, through recipes either found online or from our at-home cooking kits and there are more ways to cook and prepare them than you would think!

Here is a recipe that is easy, all ingredients are usually on hand and best of all they taste really good & the kids love them.

Brussel Sprouts Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb Brussel sprouts

2 T butter

1 clove of garlic, chopped

1/4 cup onion, chopped (we used red because that is what we had)

1 t salt & pepper (each)

2 T apple cider vinegar

1 T brown sugar

Directions:

Wash and chop the Brussel sprouts in half. Heat the butter in a pan. Add the Brussel sprouts, garlic, and onion and saute until tender (around 10 minutes) Add salt & pepper, vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until mixed well the brown sugar is dissolved.

Prep & cook time: around 25 minutes. Serves 4
