Ukrainian Egg Painting

March 23 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Date: March 23rd.
Cost: $35/nonmembers, $25/members.

A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, “to write” or “to in scribe”, as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax. Come learn the fine art of Ukrainian Egg Painting with your children ages 12 and up. You will receive a kit to keep including dyes, a kitska, and wax.

Sign up will be available through our Coursestorm, (https://carver-county-historical-society.coursestorm.com/course/ukrainian-egg-painting3) or you can reach out to us at 952-442-4234 for other options. Sign ups will be taken through March 9th to make sure we will have all the needed supplies for each of our participants.
