Galleria creates free Floral Experience “World of Wonder” with Bachman’s

We are all ready to be transported to a World of Wonder this spring at the fourth annual Galleria Floral Experience, with gardens by Bachman’s. This fantastical take on the natural world will mystify and delight with mall-wide brightly colored blooms, as well as installations highlighting nature’s unique details, such as mushrooms, crystals—and maybe even a fairy or two.

The Galleria Floral Experience invites visitors to seek and discover floral magic throughout the Galleria common areas. The event is free and open to the public for self-guided tours any time the shopping center is open during the 15-day run, from March 26 to April 9. Free valet parking is available during mall hours throughout the Floral Experience at the east entrance, near CōV Restaurant.

“We’re delighted the Floral Experience has turned into a much-anticipated antidote to cabin fever for regular shoppers, special visitors and our family of stores,” said Wendy Eisenberg, General Manager, Galleria Edina. “It’s our gift to the Twin Cities — and after four years, it’s now a definite tradition —providing a bit of early spring when everyone is craving that lushness, beauty and color.”

You will find 20-plus unique Floral Experience gardens, featuring more than 100 species of trees, shrubs, plants, flowers and bulbs. This year’s theme will weave surprising and whimsical elements into the event, with enchanted animals, fairies and a nod to disco found throughout the gardens. “Once people visit, they’ll want to return again with family members or friends to show them the secret surprises they’ve discovered,” added Eisenberg.

Seven Things to Look Out For at the Floral Experience:

  • A toadstool forest with mushrooms up to 12 ft. tall.

  • A sassy snail who’s dreaming of disco.

  • An electric rainbow that will brighten your day.

  • A bashful toad peeking out of his mystical marsh.

  • One of a kind fairy lands, hidden throughout the show.

  • A 10 ft. tall willow tree sculpture in a surprising neon hue.

  • A ‘WOW’ moment amongst the beautiful blooms.

Fun Facts:

  • 100 different types of flowers, trees, and plants are used in creating World of Wonder!

  • 20 blooming displays and vignettes throughout Galleria bring the Floral Experience to life.

  • More than 3,000 bulbs are coaxed into early blooming by the experts at Bachman’s for this event–and new this year, Allium bulbs will join the show! To keep things looking fresh, all the flowering bulbs are replaced halfway through the run by the night shift gardeners who keep the exhibit groomed.

  • The biggest tree in World of Wonder measures 10 feet tall.

  • The smallest flower (primrose) compares at a tiny two inches.

  • The plants are carefully prepared to bloom early in Bachman’s greenhouses, 20 minutes south of the Twin Cities. The plants start in their warm greenhouse seven weeks ahead of the show.

  • Thousands of kid-sized magnifying glasses will be available for young sleuths to help find tiny treasures hidden throughout.

  • No magnifying glasses required to search for 12-foot toadstools, a six-foot snail and a six-foot striped snake!

  • 4,166 miles is the farthest distance a bulb might travel to take part–from Holland to Minneapolis! Other plants will arrive from Florida, California, Ohio and South America!

Galleria shops and restaurants will lend their own style to the immersive experience through blooming windows and in-store displays, and guests will find special floral food and drink specials, too!
