About the New Day Dairy GuestBarn
Looking for a getaway that’s both fun and unforgettable for your family? Pack your bags and head to New Day Dairy GuestBarn in Northern Iowa! Just a few hours from Minneapolis, this one-of-a-kind bed-and-breakfast lets families stay on a real working dairy farm—complete with cows you can watch, pet, and even take selfies with during your stay!
If your crew is ready for a unique getaway full of cows, cuddles, and country charm, New Day Dairy GuestBarn is a must-add to your family adventure list. Don’t forget your camera—you’ll want plenty of pictures with your new four-legged friends!

Included in Your Stay at New Day Dairy GuestBarn
During your stay, you’ll have the cozy GuestBarn all to yourselves, whether you book one bedroom or all three. The full GuestBarn sleeps up to 11. The space features everything you need for a comfortable stay, including three bathrooms and a full kitchen. Each morning, a simple DIY continental breakfast is provided, and the loft even has a popcorn machine for snack breaks.
Plus, kids can watch 150 cows roam, snack, and snooze around the clock through giant loft windows. It’s the ultimate cow-gazing experience—way easier than chasing toddlers through a crowded zoo!
Each stay includes a ½-hour Introductory Tour when you arrive and a ½-hour Farewell Tour before you leave. You’ll meet calves and pet cows, learn about the high-tech robot that milks them (yes, seriously!), and maybe even name a newborn calf if one arrives during your visit! Calves are born all year round, so there’s always a chance of getting to see a birth!
New Day Dairy GuestBarn makes it easy for families with kids of all ages: the tours are short and fun, the space is private, and you can make it as hands-on (or off) as you want. There’s always something to see or do. Plus, everything is designed to be clean and safe, including boots to borrow for barn visits.

Add-Ons to Your Stay at New Day Dairy GuestBarn
For families who want to dive even deeper, the “Be A Dairy Farmer Challenge” is a hilarious, hands-on experience where you can milk a cow, scrape some barn floors (kids will love it!), ride a tractor, and feed a calf. Complete the challenge and score an “I Walked in # DairymanDan’s Boots” t-shirt!
Additional food add-ons are also available if you don’t want to travel far for a meal! Book extras like a DIY pizza night, ice cream making, and cow-themed cupcake parties to round out your stay.
