How do I get started with Box Tops now that it’s all through the app? Getting started with Box Tops is simple, and you can earn cash for schools with just a few easy steps. First, download the Box Tops app and select your child’s school or a “School in Need” near you.  Next, look for the Box Tops logo when you shop; more than 80 brands and 350 products participate in Box Tops. Last, use the app to submit your receipt within 14 days of purchase. The app will instantly identify any Box Tops products purchased and credit your school’s earnings online. A check will be sent to your school twice a year, and the funds can be used towards anything your school needs – books, technology, sports equipment, field trips, or anything in between.

What are the steps to ensure my school receives my Box Top credits? When downloading the Box Tops app, you can search for your school to ensure your earnings go to that specific school. You can also track how much you’ve raised for your school of choice under ‘My Earnings.’ The school you’ve chosen should appear at the top of your ‘home’ screen in the app – and you can always select a new school if you want to earn cash for more than one.

To change which school you support, go to your profile and hit ‘manage schools’ to search for a new school. The great thing about the app is that it allows you to earn cash for any Box Tops- eligible school. The in-app ‘Schools in Need’ feature makes it easy to find and support under-resourced schools across the country.

What are some of the most popular Box Top items? Over the last 25 years, Box Tops has appeared on hundreds of products, helping families earn cash for schools with brands they know and love. Some popular Box Tops participating products include Cheerios, Pillsbury, Nature Valley, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Old El Paso, Go-Gurt, Yoplait, Lucky Charms, Annie’s, and Mott’s Fruit Snacks.

What are new products that have had Box Tops added to them? We continue to expand and partner with brands interested in participating in the Box Tops program. This year alone, we have added 11 new brands! One product we are incredibly excited about is  Airborne, the first-ever immune support partner joining the Box Tops family. Other notable new General Mills brands include Dunkaroos, Bisquick, EPIC, and Muir Glen.

Can I collect for any school or just the school that my children attend? You can earn cash for any eligible school across the country, including ‘Schools In Need,’ via the Box Tops app. Just update which school you’d like to support under the ‘manage schools’ section of your profile.

What else would you like our readers to know? Box Tops has always believed that a child’s education is the foundation to achieving their fullest potential. As part of General Mills’ commitment to advance equity in education, Box Tops is focused on helping the students in schools where support is most needed. We encourage families in every community to support schools through Box Tops, and we are making it even easier for participants to find low-income schools through the ‘Schools in Need’ search function in the app. According to the Education Trust, low-income schools receive approximately $1,000 less per pupil in state and local funding, so Box Tops’ earnings are even more crucial in these communities. Schools have earned more than $945 million through the program to date, showing that, little by little, we can make a big difference.
