Stages Theatre Company (STC) is thrilled to announce the cast and creative team for the world premiere of the musical Maybe! Based on the children’s book written by Kobi Yamada and illustrated by Gabriella Barouch, Maybe is presented in collaboration with Escalate Theatre & Dance Studio.
On stage now with performances running through February 12, 2023. Maybe is directed by STC’s Artistic Director Sandy Boren-Barrett and Artistic Director of Escalate Dance Ann Marie Omeish. Tickets are on sale now!
Maybe is an expansive portrayal of the endless potential in us all! This original musical is about the magical, immeasurable possibilities that make up who we are and what we can do. From the award-winning author of What Do You Do with An Idea? comes the story of everything that makes us unique.
EXCITING EVENTS: There are two opportunities to meet the author, playwright, and composer of this world-premiere show and to get your copy of “Maybe” signed. Award-winning author of “Maybe” Kobi Yamada along with artistic team Cristina Pippa (script writer) and Sharon Kenny (music & lyrics) will be signing books and hosting a meet-and-great before the 7:00PM show on January 27th, and before the 1:00PM show on January 28th. Books are available for purchase at Stages Theatre Company, or at local children’s bookstores including Wild Rumpus (Minneapolis), The Red Balloon Bookstore (St. Paul), and The Thinking Spot (Minnetonka).
“Maybe is a story for everyone, and is about everything you will do and everything you can be. It’s a story about all the possibilities ahead of you, some you already know and those you can only image. So many young people doubt themselves because they look around and compare themselves to others. This beautiful, world premier new musical excites me to bring to our audiences because through the eyes of Birdy and her friend Orville, it encourages us all to believe in the impossible, and see the potential in everyone.” – Sandy Boren-Barrett (Director)
The cast of Maybe include: Kenza Ahmed (Possibility Posse), Marie Chouinard (Possibility Posse; u/s Orville), Ella Chow (Possibility Posse), Annie Houston (Wei & Possibility Posse), Finley Kelleher (Possibility Posse), Caidance Kue (Birdy), Carter Kue (Quilz & Possibility Posse), Alexis Ngetich (Possibility Posse), Olivia Randall (Possibility Posse; u/s Jax), Katri Reko (Posse Bull), Zola Renfroe (Orville), Leah Rimstad (Possibility Posse), Paloma Samadani (Possibility Posse), Stella Schlegelmilch (Jax & Possibility Posse; u/s Birdy), Ella Schumacher (Possibility Posse), Audrey Seymore (Possibility Posse; u/s Posse Blee, Posse Bull), Adrienne Shurts (Possibility Posse), George Wellens (Posse Blee), Evie Wright (Possibility Posse).
