For the Animal-Loving Kid, Minnesota Children’s Museum is the Place to Go this Spring

Wild Kratts® is Minnesota Children’s Museum’s newest exhibit!

If you’ve got a young child, then you likely already know that Minnesota Children’s Museum is amazing. Who doesn’t love a giant spiral slide, a room full of ping pong ball launchers, a post office with working conveyor belts… the list goes on and on.

And if your kid loves animals, then Minnesota Children’s Museum is definitely THE PLACE to check out this spring. With two new animal-focused experiences, there’s something new to explore for kids and families of all ages.

Wild Kratts®: Creature Power!®

Get ready for an extraordinary adventure! If your kid is a fan of the popular Wild Kratts series on PBS Kids, then this is a must-do this spring. This interactive, hands-on exhibit puts you right into the world of Wild Kratts as you go on a mission to foil the villains’ nefarious plans.

Activate your creature powers as you learn about animals from around the world that live in four unique habitats. Sneak through the forest like a jaguar and swing through the trees like a spider monkey in the tropical rainforest.

Test your hopping skills like a kangaroo and hunt for lunch like a platypus in the Australian Outback. Hop between icebergs like a penguin and slide down an ice shelf like a seal in the Antarctic. And so much more!

There’s also an engaging game for older kids where they take on missions from the Wild Kratts team to help rescue creatures from the villains. The exhibit builds on children’s natural interest in animals while sparking their curiosity and confidence. Wild Kratts: Creature Power! is open in the Special Exhibit Gallery through May 12, 2024. The exhibit is included with admission.

Pretend Vet Clinic and Grooming Parlor

Earlier this year, the museum completed a big update to its pretend town in the Our World gallery, closing the hardware store to make space for a new vet clinic and pet grooming parlor. The new space is bright and inviting and seems to be a big hit with museum visitors.

On one side is the exam area. Kids can don a white lab coat and take on the role of a veterinarian as they give their stuffed animal friend a checkup using an X-ray machine, thermometer, microscope and other play equipment.

The other side houses a pet grooming station where you’ll find everything you need to make sure your animal is looking its best. The air blower and sound-activated sink are fun touches that make the experience even more interactive.

This imaginative play space offers the chance for kids to practice empathy, caretaking and communication skills.

This spring is a great time to check out both of these new experiences, as well as everything else Minnesota Children’s Museum has to offer. Plan your springtime visit now and save on admission when you buy your tickets online ahead of time. Or, become a member and get free museum admission for your entire family for a full year!
