Bayport Lakeside Park Address: 95 Central Ave, Bayport, Minnesota, 55003
About Bayport Lakeside Park
Tucked away on the banks of the St. Croix River, Lakeside Park is a picturesque piece of summer paradise. Lauded for its scenic views of the river, kids will enjoy watching the passing boats or taking a dip in the refreshing water themselves. This park is visually stunning, but apart from its beautiful scenery, there is also much to do and explore here.
River Swimming
Many visitors have highlighted Lakeside Park’s swimming area as a great family-friendly option for calm river swimming. On a recent visit, swimmers of all ages took a dip in the clear water, while others played in the sand on the shore. The swimming portion of the park features a sandy beach, and the water is cordoned off by large buoys. Families with multiple kids or strollers will also appreciate that the beach is a very short walk from the parking lot. Indoor restrooms and outdoor water spigots make changing and cleaning up after a swim easy, too!

When it’s time to take a break from the water, there is an adorable Little Free Library right next to the beach that kids can grab a book from to enjoy. The beach is unguarded, so please keep a close eye on all children during your visit.
Plethora of Playgrounds
Lakeside Park has a massive playground with a variety of structures catering to different age groups. You would be hard-pressed to find any kids fighting over swings or playground features, as the space is so ample and there is truly an area for every age group. The climbing towers and zip line are big draws for older kiddos! Parents will also appreciate the thoughtful design of the park; the playground is centrally located in the middle of the park’s lawns and picnic areas, making it easy to keep an eye on everyone during your visit.

Stop for a Sweet Treat
Another must-stop on any trip to Bayport is Mabel’s Ice Cream and Coffee Shop, where you can enjoy ice cream. Located inside an old house, this charming creamery offers unique flavors and a spacious outdoor patio where you can enjoy a cool treat. It’s close enough to walk to from the park, but it’s also a quick bike ride.
