Slow-Cooker Ham and Sweet Potatoes

You need only four ingredients for this recipe, which means it can be made on your busiest days. Need a simple holiday meal for Easter? Done! Let your slow cooker do the work — while you tidy the house.

Slow-Cooker Ham and Sweet Potatoes

  • 1 boneless ham, about 2 pounds
  • 3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, cut into pats
  • 1 / 4 cup maple syrup, honey or brown sugar (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper

Place the ham in a slow cooker.

Pile the sweet potatoes on top of and around the ham.

Scatter the butter pats over the ham and sweet potatoes.

Drizzle everything with the maple syrup.

Season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook on high for 5 to 6 hours or on low for 7 to 8 hours. Serve hot.
