The months of January through March can get long as a parent! You are at home with the kids and it’s COLD in Minnesota. The days can feel long and sometimes it can be hard to get motivated to get outside. Trust me, I spent the past weekend inside the entire time! I get it. Thankfully, a fun activity can help the time pass while you are your kids are having a blast together!
Here is a list of 20 winter activities to do inside:
- Invent a new board game.
- Play charades
- Try a new recipe that the kids helped choose
- Read a book
- Finger paint
- Write a story
- Make an indoor scavenger hunt
- Tell stories by the fireplace (or yule log on the TV!)
- Create a short movie together (or stop animation!)
- Learn origami
- Do a puzzle
- Bake and decorate cookies
- Build a fort
- Write a letter to a family member or friend
- Sing Karaoke (check Youtube for options!)
- Write a secret message for someone
- Make up a play or dance
- Play hide and seek
- Print out coloring pages and color
- Organize a closet or bookshelf by color
Have fun! Every winter comes and goes here in Minnesota so it’s important to make the best of it!
