Instagram is teeming with curated Easter baskets — the kind that are color coordinated and costly.
But if you ask me, you only need two elements for a winsome basket: a book and a bunny.
I’ve been playing around with this combo as Easter nears. Check out these darling duos.
Richard Scarry and Teagan White (who is local!) are two of my favorite picture-book illustrators. The top bunny is by Cuddle + Kind, and the little white fluffball is Bunnies By The Bay.
Of all the stuffed animals, is there any cuter than a floppy-eared bunny?
It’s not too late to pick out one via Amazon Prime. There are plenty of furry options, including an array of Jellycat bunnies (my favorite have floral ear linings) and a white plush wearing a flower crown.

I can’t resist a vintage Easter book! The Easter Bunny That Overslept was originally published in 1957. It’s an intriguing tale with gorgeous illustrations.
The Country Bunny and The Little Gold Shoes is even older, first published in 1939. My kids are fascinated by the plotline and the protagonist: a working mom who prevails. And I love the color palette.
Of course, your Easter basket need not contain an overtly Easter-y book. Any picture book with pastels is a good candidate. Consider these:

Last Easter my in-laws gave the kids The Wonderful Things You Will Be, and its illustrations continue to delight. (It’s $7.61 on Amazon Prime.) It too has a lovely color palette.
