About the North Shore Adventure Park with Kids

North Shore Adventure Park in Silver Bay is a must-stop on your next North Shore trip. Tucked off Hwy 61 between Duluth and Grand Marais (you can easily see it from the road!), this treetop adventure park is designed for families. It offers safe, confidence-building fun for kids as young as three, all the way up to thrill-seeking teens and adventurous parents. Think ziplining, climbing, and, of course, cheering each other on! Throughout the experience, you’ll be surrounded by towering trees and forest views.

North Shore Adventure Park with Little Kids

Yes, Minnesota really does have ziplining for preschoolers (and it’s adorable!). The Lil’ Rascals Playground is made specifically for kids ages 3–6. This dedicated area, separate from the main course, gives little adventurers their own space to climb, balance, and zip near the ground.
The obstacles mirror the big-kid courses but are sized just right for small bodies. The sit-down zipline is often the highlight! It’s the perfect introduction to adventure without being overwhelming. And, parents can rest easy knowing that everything is designed for safety and success.
While kids are on the course, parents can easily walk beside them. Or, snag a bench nearby to observe kids who can conquer the tot-sized course on their own.

North Shore Adventure Park with Big Kids & Teens

For kids ages 7 and up (and adults!), the main ropes courses are where the real adventures begin. North Shore Adventure Park features six high ropes courses and 10 ziplines.
There are five difficulty levels. Each level includes age recommendations and guidelines for children ages 7-13. Those 14+ can complete any course independently without adult supervision.
Families can start with the basics and work their way up, choosing their own pace and path. Confident climbers can tackle swinging bridges, flying rings, and higher elevations. Meanwhile, more cautious kids can stick to gentler challenges.
One of the biggest hits? The twin 400-foot racing ziplines. Here, siblings (or parents and kids) can safely race side by side. It’s empowering, exhilarating, and incredibly fun to do together.

More about North Shore Adventure Park for Families

Safety is a top priority here. Every visit starts with a clear safety briefing, hands-on practice course, and an “always locked on” system that keeps climbers securely attached at all times. Friendly, trained guides are stationed throughout the park to help when needed.
Picnic tables are scattered across the grounds, making it easy to pack a lunch or pick up takeout to enjoy throughout the afternoon.
Open May through October, North Shore Adventure Park is an unforgettable way to connect as a family, build your kids’ confidence, and have epic adventures on the North Shore.
