The newest attraction in Wisconsin Dells, is a huge water park. While on the surface, that may not seem earth-shattering news, this new vacation spot for families, called Land of Natura, is a natural water park with the world’s largest naturally filtered lake and a floating waterpark.

Along with the natural water park, Land of Natura also includes a mini shallow-depth water playground ideal for preschoolers; North America’s longest suspended tree canopy tour. You can find more than 10 miles of hiking and biking trails through the woods; river beach access with shoreline fishing; and a greenhouse at the welcome center from which the culinary team at the onsite restaurant will source vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

The 1,100-foot-long self-guided tree canopy tour includes bridges and walkways suspended from 10 to 25 feet above the ground, with interpretative platforms to guide visitors through the forest. This low-impact, elevated view of nature, with plenty of opportunities for bird watching and eagle sightings, is for people of all ages and accommodates strollers too. There is also a low-ropes course for young adventurers.

The Goal is to Make the Connection Between Health of the Planet and Health of People

Adam Makowski explained the inspiration for Land of Natura, saying, “Our vision was to create a space that allows visitors to embrace the connection between the health of the planet and their own physical and emotional health by giving them a way to move beyond passive sightseeing.” He added that they’ve started referring to the experience as “day camping,” noting that Land of Natura provides all the wholesome enjoyment of a camping getaway without the work of packing and unpacking, which means more time for fun. “Plus, we offer lots of activities that state parks simply aren’t able to, which keeps children and adults off tech devices and fully enjoying their time together outdoors,” noted Adam Makowski.

Land of Natura is open year-round, with winter hiking, snowshoeing, bonfires on the beach, hockey, and ice skating all planned. This attraction is pet-friendly. The onsite restaurant features plant-based meals using ingredients sourced locally as well as comfort food favorites, while a coffee and sweets café features indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a private room available to reserve for special occasions.
